Shawntiarre Faumui

Shawntiarre was born and raised in American Samoa. Right after graduating from the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science, she came back home and started working at the veterinary clinic on the island. She has also volunteered with veterinarians in Georgia.

Working at the clinic has helped develop her compassion toward and desire to help save animals, especially when there is so much work needed to be done regarding reducing overpopulation (spay & neuter) and overall animal health. She is glad to be a part of the clinic team to help make a difference despite the fact they are short staffed and have more than 10,000 animals on this island in need of care. Although there is still a lot that needs to be done, she is forever grateful for people helping the clinic with donations.

Shawnti has one cat and four dogs at home, including Rusty pictured above.
