Coconut Mutts is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to improving animal welfare in American Samoa. The animals and people living in this remote US territory do not have a veterinarian and only have access one veterinary clinic. Typhoons. Rampant disease. Limited access to basic supplies. Big challenges for some of the islands’ smallest inhabitants. With your help we can supply relief for the animals struggling to survive in this remote corner of the United States. 

HAPPENING NOW! Free Spay and Neuter Clinic!

Coconut Mutts is excited to announce that the FREE DOH Veterinary Clinic Spay & Neuter Project is currently happening! Five days of spay and neuter efforts with Dr. Bret with the goal of treating 250 dogs. Please call the Veterinary Clinic at 699-9445 to make an appointment and save your dog’s surgery slot!
Coconut Mutts is so thankful to collaborate with the ASG DOH Animal Services, Office of Samoan Affairs, Department of Education, Legislation, Alofa Mo Meaola, Lions Club and Animal Lovers on this amazing efforts.
Here are the details:
Maximum three adult dogs per owner. Unfortunately, the clinic is not taking walk-in appointments. Also, the Department of Health and the Office of Samoan Affairs are collaborating on three village clinics: May 17th – Fagatogo Pavillion, May 18th – Fagaitua HS fale, May 19th – Leone at Andra Samoa’s residence. (More villages will be included in the future.) Please call 699-9445 to make an appointment for the village clinics. Cats and health checks will be handled by the Clinic staff after May 20th.
Donations – if you’d like to help, the Clinic is asking for towels, bedsheets, plastic storage bins, and volunteers.
Volunteers are needed from 7:30am-3pm. You can work any number of hours – there are things to do that have no contact with dogs.
